Photovoltaic Systems – RES Projects

​​​​​​​The Net-Billing Scheme, up to 8MW, can be applied to commercial and industrial buildings, houses, public buildings, military camps, schools, agricultural and animal husbandry units, and fishing enterprises with the purpose of generating electricity for own use.

​​​​Virtual Net Billing can be applied for Photovoltaic Electricity Production Systems, with a power of up to 150kWp per consumption bill and per beneficiary/business and for Energy Storage Systems with a power of up to 500kWp per consumption bill for Individuals or Legal Persons and Public/Local Authorities.

The Agreement for the Virtual Net Billing Scheme is the following:

The Net-Metering Scheme can be applied to RES plants.

The Scheme for the Production of Electrical Energy from Renewable Energy Sources for Own Consumption of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry expired on 31 December 2025, following a relevant announcement issued on 30 September 2025.

Net Metering Agreements are offered only to customers who submitted an application for the connection of their Photovoltaic System to the Distribution System Operator by 31 December 2025.​

​The two Net Metering Schemes are the following:

•        Household and non-household consumers for Photovoltaic Systems up to 10kW

•        Public School Buildings with Photovoltaic Systems >5,2kW up to 20kW.

​​The Agreements for the Net Metering Schemes are the following:

The Virtual Net Metering can be applied to small Photovoltaic Systems for Domestic Consumers up to 10,4 kWp and Professional Farmers and Winery Enterprises up to 100 kWp. ​
