class=\"eac-rteElement-H3\">\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bThe EAC&#8217;s Core Regulated Activities (CRA) fall under the jurisdiction of two Business Units:<\/h3>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\">The Networks Business Unit and the Generation and Supply Business Unit.<\/p>\n<h4>Networks Business Unit<\/h4>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\">The Networks Business Unit (NBU) is one of the two independent Business Units set up by the EAC in the framework of its Compliance with CERA&#8217;s Regulatory Decision 04\/2014 and it is responsible for the Core Regulated Activities (CRA) of Transmission and Distribution (monopoly activities since the electricity grid is considered internationally to be a natural monopoly). The CRA of Transmission has been organised in a single Unit, that of the Transmission System Owner (TSO), and the CRA of Distribution into two Units: the Distribution System Owner (D\u0391\u039f) and the Distribution System Operator (DSO).<\/p>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\">\u200bThe NBU is responsible for the development, construction, maintenance and management of the National Distribution Network as well as for the construction and maintenance of the National Transmission Network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\"><span>\u200b<\/span><span>T<\/span><span>h<\/span><span>e NBU also has jurisdiction over the EAC&#8217;s four Area Offices.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6 class=\"eac-rteElement-H6\"><\/h6>\n<h4 class=\"eac-rteElement-H6\">Generation and Supply Business Unit\u00a0\u200b<\/h4>\n<p class=\"eac-rteElement-P\">The Generation and Supply Business Unit is the second of the two independent Business Units created by the EAC in order to comply with CERA&#8217;s Regulatory Decision
